Qigong Self-Healing Class With Michael Sieverts

Qigong is loosely defined as the study of energy, or the study of breath—and is based on the principles of Chinese medicine. The practice opens the channels and meridians, allowing energy to flow freely throughout your body.
We start with a self-massage, do a standing meditation, and follow with a series of movements to flow the energy through the extremities, all done while standing, in about 90 minutes.
Slow, mindful moving has been shown to lengthen telomeres, which is thought to reverse the aging process. It also promotes strength, resiliency, calmness, inner peace, balance, wisdom, sense of community and connectedness, kindness, and empathy. All of that arises from a deep and affectionate respect from yourself.
The practice is great for those recovering from illness, but it also can be used to maintain health and prevent illness.
Michael Sieverts is a mindfulness meditator and former Yin Yoga student who discovered qigong after a diagnosis of brain cancer. These particular Qigong forms helped him completely recover.
