Lisa Kring

Lisa Kring is a licensed clinical social worker, with a experience in child and family therapy and family court mediation.  Through her studies with Dan Siegel, M.D., she began practicing mindfulness with the Mindful Awareness Research Center over six years ago, and later began the MBSR certification process with Bob Stahl and Jon Kabat-Zinn.  She also leads ongoing mindfulness groups with cancer patients at the SIMMS/MANN Center for Integrative Oncology at UCLA.  Lisa recognizes Trudy Goodman and Christiane Wolf as guiding teachers and mentors, and is deeply grateful to be a part of the Insight LA community.

Description: Our beginning meditation class that helps bring balance into your daily life.

This is InsightLA's popular Basics of Mindfulness Class in Los Feliz! This is our premier introduction to creating and incorporating an effective and ongoing insight meditation practice in all aspects of your life. This class is appropriate for beginners as well as experienced meditators who want to refresh the fundamentals of their practice.

In this class you will learn to reduce your stress and gain more happiness by:

1. Developing a healthier relationship with your thoughts
2. Developing more balance with your emotions
3. Being more in touch with your body and mind.

These classes provide our students with a supportive environment. Our teachers tailor their instructions to meet the specific needs of participants. In a step by step process students learn the nuts and bolts of insight meditation and basic mindfulness practice.

Some financial aid is available.
