Have you ever felt overwhelmed when taking care of others? Or found it difficult to find the balance between your own needs and the needs of those you are helping?
Many of us know that caregiving can be one of the most wonderful, rewarding experiences. However, oftentimes it can be accompanied by feelings of frustration, stress, and isolation. Whether you are caring for a young child, an aging parent, a difficult-to-understand teenager, or even an individual with a chronic or life-threatening illness, mindfulness is the means by which you can reduce stress, improve attention, reduce emotional reactivity, and promote a general sense of well-being in your life.
InsightLA is pleased to be offering an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) for Caregivers. If you are currently experiencing the challenges of caregiving personally or professionally, this program will help you to learn ways to manage stress and to face life’s challenges with resiliency, within a supportive group setting. Each of the weekly sessions will include mindfulness mediation, discussion, and education. The teacher will tailor her instructions to meet the specific needs of participants.
This course meets the qualifications for 27 hours of continuing education credit for LCSW, MFT, LEP and LPCC licenses approved by the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences, Provider No. PCE 5131.
