Mindfulness Meditation
Mindfulness meditation (Vipassana, or Insight meditation) is a simple practice of learning how to cultivate our most valuable natural resource: compassionate awareness. Mindfulness has the power to tame the mind and free the heart. Through careful – and caring -- observation of the continuous changes in our bodies, emotions and minds, we become more able to align ourselves with the constant flow of change that is our life. We are more able to access our own immense creativity and courage, so we can skillfully navigate the many twists and turns on our journey, and contribute lovingly to our world.
Mindfulness meditation was taught more than 2500 years ago by the Buddha as a means to alleviate suffering and attain freedom. The methods of this path have been tested and refined by countless practitioners across the centuries and are at the heart of all of InsightLA’s contemplative programs.
