Buddhist Recovery Network Conference "Recovery from Addiction in a Buddhist Context," October 9-11 Hosted by Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society  The Buddhist Recovery Network will be holding its inaugural conference in Los Angeles, October 9-11. The title of the Conference is Recovery from Addiction in a Buddhist Context, and it will be hosted by Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society on Melrose. Keynote speakers at the Conference include Trudy Goodman, Kevin Griffin, Noah Levine, Professor G. Alan Marlatt, Thich Dao Quang, and Santikaro. Workshop and Panel presenters include Jeff Bell, Dr Ann Bolger, Laura Burges, Pablo Das, Damon Gay, Rev. Alex Holt, Dr Kathy Lustyk, and Rev. Elizabeth Munoz, The Buddhist Recovery Network supports the use of Buddhist teachings, traditions and practices to help people recover from the suffering caused by addictive behaviors. Open to people of all backgrounds, and respectful of all recovery paths, the organization promotes mindfulness and meditation, and is grounded in Buddhist principles of non-harming, compassion and interdependence. It seeks to serve an international audience through teaching, training, treatment, research, publication, advocacy and community-building initiatives.
