Description: "Hatred never ceases by hatred;
But by love alone is healed.
This is an ancient and eternal law."
--Buddhist chant

Metta is a traditional Buddhist meditation practice that cultivates loving kindness and friendliness to all beings everywhere, including our selves. The practice of Metta trains the heart to open, to let go of anger and resentment, to be kinder and less judgmental.

In this class we will explore the four sublime dwelling places of the heart: Metta/good will, Karuna/compassion, Mudita/sympathetic joy, and Upeka/equanimity.

Metta is based on our hearts' natural desire to be happy and to share this happiness with others.

This class will include seated meditation, instruction, and group discussion.

May all beings everywhere be happy and live in peace.
