| Description: | + Due to fire regulations, this event must be capped when it reaches capacity. If you do not have a reservation already, you may come to the event and we will let people in as long as we are able to do so. + Happiness that is not shaken by conditions begins with imagining that such stable and open happiness exists, and could exist for us. We also need wisdom in order to know how to make such happiness real. This implies patience, perspective, and an ability to see things as they are. During this special half-day retreat with one of America's leading spiritual teachers, Sharon Salzberg, we will explore our notions of happiness, strength, aloneness and possibility. We'll practice meditation along with dialogue and discourse. Suitable for both beginning and more experienced meditators, don't miss this wonderful opportunity to spend a Saturday morning practicing with Sharon! Sharon's new book Real Happiness: The Power of Meditation: A 28-Day Program will be for sale at the retreat, and she will sign copies of the book afterwards. For more information about the book, visit: www.workman.com. Musician Joey Lugassy and his band will perform before the start of the program, beginning at 9:30am. Lugassy, one of LA's most esteemed spiritual musicians, has sung for Thich Nhat Hanh, written a song for Amnesty International, and received two Emmy nominations for best song in a drama series.
