Loving Someone in Recovery, a Special Talk with Dr. Beverly Berg
Active addiction and untreated codependency always destroys trust and safety between partners in a committed relationship.
One of the many blessings that a path of recovery offers wounded partners is the possibility of restoration and healing. Every recovering couple needs strong tools for sustaining connection, repairing injury and regulating reactivity.
In this day and age, people are sustaining long term recovery from addiction and codependency while also trying to stay steady in long term committed relationships. The greatest challenges the recovering couple faces in daily living is in finding ways to emotionally connect, resolve conflict, and integrate differences in an ever-changing, fast paced world.
It is essential for recovering couples to be able to know how to assuage negative emotions with intimacy skill and compassion for his or her partner in order to maintain harmony and continue to grow and evolve.
This evening will be an experience of a mindful meditation exercise that recovering couples can practice between them, a question and answer session, and a book signing celebrating the release of Dr. Berg's book "Loving Someone in Recovery."
This event is for new and experienced meditators, recovering individuals from addiction and codependency, and recovering couples in a committed relationship.
