Description:
Every age and phase of life brings changes and transitions -- some by choice and some not. All change is accompanied by concerns, fears, and questions: How do I know if making this change will make me happy? Is it meaningful? How do I know if I'm making the right decisions? How can I stay true to myself during this transition? Who am I anyway?

In this weekend workshop, Phillip Moffitt offers you tools, practices, and principles that can help you answer these questions. This will be an opportunity for you to assess areas of importance in your life and determine whether change is needed, develop options, and create a plan for making decisions. The workshop will emphasize making wise choices through clarification of your values.

The program will explore topics such as intimacy, self-esteem, fulfillment in work, money, doubts and insecurities, and life balance.

Each day there will be teachings, self-assessments, small group discussions, personal inquiry, and participatory exercises. Phillip will also lead mindful movement practices and guided meditations. The self-assessments are designed to allow you to gain clarity about where you are presently in life and to create a vision for yourself.

This workshop will specifically focus on looking within versus dwelling on external circumstances. Expect a weekend of self-exploration, self-inquiry, and ultimately, self-knowing.

Phillip Moffitt occupies a unique position in the world of mindful living and leadership. With the astute business acumen honed during his years as a media entrepreneur combined with the deep wisdom about inner development cultivated over the past 30 years as a vipassana meditation practitioner and teacher, Phillip brings unparalleled insights and strategic vision to those seeking to lead authentic, purposeful lives. Phillip was Editor-in-Chief and CEO of Esquire and led the successful turnaround of the magazine in the 1980s. After he left his publishing enterprise, he devoted himself to studying and practicing Theravada Buddhism and is now a nationally known teacher of mindfulness meditation. He serves as Co-Guiding Teacher at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Northern California.

In addition to teaching meditation, Phillip is the president and founder of Life Balance Institute where he trains individuals and groups in the principles of values-based leadership and living as well as how to skillfully make major transitions. Phillip is the author of Dancing with Life: Buddhist Insights for Finding Meaning and Joy in the Face of Suffering and Emotional Chaos to Clarity: How to Live More Skillfully, Make Better Decisions, and find Purpose in Life.
