"For ourselves, who are ordinary men and women, let us return thanks to Nature for her bounty by using every one of the senses she has given us."
― Virginia Woolf, The Common Reader

Mindful Writing - Waking Up The Senses

In this mindful writing daylong - sense-infused teachings, meditations, and mindful writing exercises will give our lives and writings a deepened awareness of touch, taste, scent, sound, sight, insight and feelings.

"We have five senses in which we glory and which we recognise and celebrate, senses that constitute the sensible world for us. But there are other senses -- secret senses, sixth senses, if you will -- equally vital, but unrecognised, and unlauded. These senses, unconscious, automatic, had to be discovered."
― Oliver Sacks, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales

Led by Amy Spies, an experienced practitioner of mindfulness meditation as well as a professional writer/producer with credits spanning over 30 years of work in television, film and other media outlets, this group will explore the nuance of writing from the deeply connected space of mindfulness.

*This workshop is suitable for writers (and non-writers) of all mediums including those writing journals, memoirs, screen or stage plays, novels, poems, and short stories.
