Buddha's Path

Emotional Resilience: Mindfulness, Self Compassion, and the Buddha's Teachings

We are no longer taking registrations for this class/event.
Nov 1 (Tue) - Dec 13 (Tue)
10:00am - 11:45am (6 weeks)
Santa Monica
The class will explore contemporary and traditional mindfulness and compassion practices that help us let go of fear and reactive habit patterns. Including difficult emotions in our meditation practice is significant. As we learn to navigate the inevitable challenges of life with confidence, stability, and kindness, we can transform our relationship to ourselves, to others and to our world.

This class is ideal for the student who has already taken a meditation class like Basics of Mindfulness, Mindful Self Compassion or Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and who wishes to deepen their mindfulness meditation practice. If you have some meditation experience but have not taken an InsightLA class, please contact the teacher.

"Peace within oneself is to be found in the same place as agitation and suffering. It is not found in a forest or on a hilltop, nor is it given by a teacher. Where you experience suffering, you can also find freedom from suffering. Trying to run away from suffering is actually to run toward it." -- Ajahn Chah

There are six weekly classes.

Please Note: There will not be class on November 8th.

This class is a Dana based class. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Dana means giving. The suggested donation for this class series, which includes 6 classes, is $180 dollars.

$30 per person of an average size class at InsightLA covers the cost of paying teachers, administrators, rent and outreach, as well as covering the participation of students who will pay less.

Please give generously. Your act of generosity is significant. The Buddha taught that all of the beautiful qualities of heart and mind begin with generosity: Generosity dissolves the separation of self and other… Giver receiver and gift intertwined.
