Non-harming is one of the five precepts, or ethical observances, in the Buddhist tradition.

This class will explore the teachings of non-violence, highlighting the life and work of some who have dedicated their lives to this path such as Mahatma Gandhi, Dorothy Day, and Thich Nhat Hanh.

We will also address the very practical application of this principle in daily life. How can non-violence be practiced in thought, speech, relationships, work settings and as a core practice in addressing the pressing issues of sustainability, social justice and world peace? Come explore this path with us!
