Mindful Movement and Awareness
Through the practices of Taoist Qigong, gentle Hatha yoga, mindfulness meditation, and various healing practices and self-care, Karen teaches students how to use the body to connect and open the heart and create a rejuvenating spaciousness, improve concentration, and promote overall well-being.
These practices along with mindful awareness promote healing, mobility, strength, and connection to your body for increased vitality.
This course provides specific takeaway techniques that students can do at home to relieve stress and become more grounded in daily life.
Some of the practices will include:
- Taoist Qigong
- Gentle Hatha yoga
- Neuromuscular self-care
- Understanding and working with the Five Elements
- Using the body scan meditation for greater awareness
- Seated Insight meditations
Other Class Notes:
The overall flow of this class engages awareness of the body in movement and in rest, bringing energy and release to areas of tightness or injury.
This is NOT an "exercise" class yet there is motion (joint opening, some stretching, energy cultivation) and people can get stronger with continued practice.
