Mindfulness, Compassion and the Inner compass: A Malibu Beach House Daylong
"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"
Mindfulness and compassion can be practiced for all kind of reasons but one thing that keeps happening for many people is that through regular practice they come in touch with what matters most to them. They start to feel their way into a more authentic and vibrant life.
We all have something that we can call an inner compass, which, if listened to, will lead us to living a life in harmony with who we truly are. It's like a quiet inner voice or tugging, often felt in the belly area, which is easily drowned out by the external noise of our busy and active life. Sometimes it needs the explosion of an event like loosing a loved one or a longtime job or a scary diagnosis to make us stop and start listening to that inner voice again and to ask ourselves if we are truly living the life we want to live. Asking ourselves if we are truly living "our" life.
Whether life has hit you in that "wake up" way or if you simply feel somehow "off" in your life or in some areas, we can use the practices of stillness, meditation and reflection to reconnect to our inner compass and start listening again to what it has to say.
We will gather for this day to practice deep listening together. The power of the Ocean will help facilitate this kind of listening.
The day will include periods of silent sitting and walking practice, reflection and writing time, and sharing. We recommend that you have at least some experience with practicing mindfulness meditation.
If something in you pulls you toward this workshop retreat it might be your inner compass waiting for an opportunity to be heard. You might want to listen.
We will gather for this practice day in a beautiful and intimate private home in Malibu right at the Ocean front.
Please plan on arriving at 8.30 to allow time for parking and settling in. We will start at 9am sharp to make the best use of our time together. We will send out the address and parking directions a few days before the retreat.
We only have a few meditation cushions so if you have one please bring what you would like to sit on for meditation.
