Live Till You Die at Hollywood Forever Cemetery with Trudy Goodman
Sep 10 (Sun)
5pm - 7pm
"Of all the footprints, that of the elephant is supreme. Similarly, of all mindfulness meditation, that on death is supreme." - The Buddha
Join Trudy Goodman, founding teacher of InsightLA, on the Douglas Fairbanks Lawn, in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, for a special meditation and reflection on life and death.
The Buddha instructed his students to go to the charnel grounds to contemplate impermanence among the dead and confront their fears about mortality. This can be a powerful incentive to be mindful. We realize that our time is here is not forever. Death can show us just how precious life is.
This is offered as a free community event.
InsightLA is a community of people dedicated to maintaining a safe and welcome, open and diverse environment that stands firmly against all racial, gender, economic, or religious bias.
