Come join world-renowned teacher, Joseph Goldstein, for an evening of teachings, guided meditations, and conversation. Joseph was one of the first pioneers to bring insight, or Vipassana (mindfulness) meditation to the West. This is a rare opportunity to learn from a living Buddhist master.

This evening with Joseph is a benefit for InsightLA. Event attendees who contribute at the $175 ticket level will be invited to attend a private reception with Joseph after his talk.

ABOUT JOSEPH GOLDSTEIN:
Joseph Goldstein
Joseph Goldstein has been leading insight and lovingkindness meditation retreats worldwide since 1974. He is a cofounder of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, where he is one of the organization's guiding teachers. In 1989, together with several other teachers and students of insight meditation, he helped establish the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies.

Joseph first became interested in Buddhism as a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand in 1965. Since 1967 he has studied and practiced different forms of Buddhist meditation under eminent teachers from India, Burma and Tibet. He is the author of A Heart Full of Peace, One Dharma: The Emerging Western Buddhism, Insight Meditation: The Practice of Freedom, The Experience of Insight, and co-author of Seeking the Heart of Wisdom and Insight Meditation: A Correspondence Course.
Location Details:
The Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center Eli and Edythe Broad Stage is located at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center, on Santa Monica Blvd, between 10th and 11th Streets. The physical address is: 1310 11th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401. Entrance to the parking lot is from the North side of Santa Monica Blvd.
